India is a country that is associated with several beautiful cultures, delicious cuisines and an ever-growing population. Contrastingly, India is also a country brimming with injustices. From the moment that a child is born here, they are already subject to a number of biases and a wide variety of discrimination. Depending on the economic background, women and children are said to be the most oppressed in our country. Our foundation, SA.RI.NA. at the very crux of it, is built to fight this systemic injustice that is meted out to these core Indian communities.
United by two mothers who have lost their closest loved ones, this journey is close to our hearts. In grief, we might have found each other but it is that very grief that guides us forward in our battle. The SA.RI.NA. Foundation stands with all struggling families, mothers and children who have been deprived of what is rightfully theirs only by the virtue of belonging to these marginal communities.
Our mission is multi-fold. There are various aspects of societal restructuring that we are looking to make strides into. Long before the COVID-19 pandemic ruined a majority of our unorganised labour force, there were still hungry children and women dealing with domestic abuse who lined the streets for vaccines, supplies and rations. Our approach is to help them in unparalleled ways in order to render them self-sufficient. This would include identifying and helping women through education and awareness. Saving the girl child is a part of our mission and we are working to ensure that they are healthy, educated and empowered. Additionally, immunisation of children and providing nutritious mid-day meals also forms a part of the foundation’s larger goals.
The SA.RI.NA. Foundation is waging the war against injustice and we are hoping that you will join us in this cause as well.
